Jerry Brownlow
Born in Lamesa, Jerry has lived in west Texas his entire life. Jerry had a musical up bringing. As a teenager with his brother Randy, Mother and Dad they were known as "The Brownlow Family Band". His musical influences include his uncles that were exceptional Blue Grass pickers, his Father a phenomenal harmonica and mandolin player and his Mother an exceptional vocalist. This humble group although difficult to persuade to play for you, once they started you were in for the night and into the wee hours of the morning. Jerry a prolific songwriter, singer and musician has worked in all areas of Country music. Jerry has been a member of the Maines Brothers Band since 1977, which garnered him a place on the Walk of fame with such legends as Buddy Holly and Tanya Tucker. Jerry also enjoys singing gospel music with his church choir, and quartets 4Heavensake and Sweet Victory. Jerry started his broadcasting career in 1970. Other than on air personality Jerry specializes in creative writing, production and voice talent. His commercial work includes voiceovers and character voices for numerous advertising agencies. Jerry recently relocated to San Angelo, Texas and is Program Director of KDCD, Lonestar 92.9 FM, and will continue his very successful radio program, “Jerry’s West Texas Gospel Show” Sunday Mornings. When not on the air, singing or writing songs, Jerry loves spending time with his wife Jan and their Chocolate Lab Bobber.
