Don Caldwell
Don was born and raised in West Texas, living in the Lubbock area his entire life.
In 1971, he established Don Caldwell Recording Studios which was, for many years, the only recording studio in Lubbock. There, he engineered and produced much of the music that would define the "Lubbock Sound."
Don is an accomplished saxophonist and he is widely respected for his production of musical events such as Lubbock’s "4th on Broadway", "Lights on Broadway", "The Buddy Holly Music Festival", Texas Tech’s "Raider Alley", and many others.
In 1993, Don established a corporation to purchase and renovate Lubbock’s historic Cactus Theater. He currently manages that facility and produces weekly variety shows featuring the infinitely talented West Texas music community. |
